Students' Administrative Council Building - 12 Hart House Circle (Reader Request)

The original Toronto Magnetic and Meteorlogical Observatory was one of three in the world established by the British government for geodetic surveying. Now the home of the Student's Administrative Council, the east facade bears a monument to the pro-democracy protesters killed at Tiananmen Square.

The oldest building on campus, it was originally located south of King's College Circle but was crowded by new university buildings by the end of the 19th century and moved to its present location. The above archival photo shows the surveyors at work for the 1908 move.
